Day 9 on the Ark
It is my sad duty to report that Japheth’s wife, 'Adataneses, died today. She was busy mucking out the elephant enclosure when one of the wasps stung the bull causing it to trample her repeatedly. When we found her, she looked like a half-empty tube of toothpaste.
Being the skilled craftsman I am, I fashioned her a coffin out of a spare feeding trough. On hindsight, it was a mistake to have an open-casket funeral, as two of the vultures got loose and started eating the corpse. We eventually managed to get them back in their cage, but they managed to take some of her with them.
She will be sorely missed, but I’ll never forget her beautiful face, especially since it’s still lying at the back of the vulture cage.
