Go, Tell It on the Mountain
While shepherds kept their watching
Over their flocks by night,
Jesus appeared before them
And gave them all a fright.
The shepherds shook and trembled,
And one fainted from fear.
Jesus chuckled at his prank
And then he disappeared.
Refrain
Go, tell it on the mountain,
Over the hills and everywhere;
Go, tell it on the mountain
That Jesus is a dick.
And in a nearby cottage
A farmer was asleep.
Jesus set the horses loose
And changed the cows to sheep.
When the farmer woke up,
He couldn’t believe his eyes.
Then Jesus leapt out from a bush,
And yelled at him, ‘surprise!’
Refrain
When they finally caught him,
The Romans all agreed,
He wasn’t the Messiah,
But a naughty boy indeed.
